Description:

It is a NEW month again already! I'm not sure what happened to July, but it's gone and the kiddos here have only 3 weeks left before school starts again! At any rate, a new month means a new Tim Holtz Tag Swap.

Here are his introductory words to this month's tag:

"getting the most out of products we have is really important to me. i’m always looking for new ways to use the products i design so this month i wanted to share a mixed media use for die cuts. keep in mind you can use any designs for this technique, so when you’re creating your tag have fun with it. utilizing die cuts as a background provides an immediate dimensional element, and the perfect foundation to collage and stamp on. it’s important to challenge our creative process to discover different uses for products, so i hope you give this idea a try. remember, this is all about layering – let’s get started…t!m" You can get to his tutorial by clicking HERE.

He gives you all of the instructions and lists his supplies---which as usual will mean getting creative about adapting your supplies to what you have and any substitutes you will need to make. For example, if you don't have the dies for his word blocks, you could use stamps with similar words or phrases, or use Cricut cut out words, etc. If you don't have his "Found Relatives" for the image he uses, again you could use a stamped image that you cut our or cut out an online printable of vintage photos--you can find those images on Pinterest or by doing a Google search for vintage photos. Or use a vintage photo from a flea market, etc. As he says, be creative with the products you do have and " when you’re creating your tag have fun with it. " So, as I say with every challenge on this site, the main points are to get your creativity and ingenuity geared up, and, most importantly, HAVE FUN MAKING YOUR OWN VERSION OF THE TAG!

Sign up deadline is August 17 (Monday), and mailing deadline is August 31 (also a Monday).
