Description:

I LOVE postage stamps!! I never throw one away. I have a bazillion of them in envelopes, but I don't get to enjoy them when they are tucked away in a drawer somewhere. So let all of the other stampaholics out there join me in making stamp covered post cards.

Here's the deal.....cut out a 4x6 peice of cardboard and completely cover one side with stamps. Any kind of stamps are fine, even your imperfect ones that might have a little tear. (I would recommend a clear finish of some sort over the top of the stamps to secure all the little edges.)

We will have 4 partners - 1 postcard each.

Mail them naked, no envelope.

So go grab that box, tin, or envelope full of stamps and start glueing. I mean really - who doesn't love to glue stuff to other stuff.

This will be international, open to all, but I will ban anyone who seems flaky to me.

Do we have to cover the whole postcard with postage stamps?

I love stamps very much but sticking them overlapping another will definately spoil them. So, I hope my partner will stick them properly/neatly (sorry, can I request that?)

Lastly, is this international swap?

It is international and it really will be up to the postcard creater on how they want to place the stamps on the card. It could be neat and tidy or a mish mash of overlapping stamps.

I´d love to enter, but I think the postcard must go in an envelope, I guess maybe I could get in trouble at the mail office here in Mexico, its ok if I send the postcard in an envelope?

BlueDragonfly 08/15/2008 #

Yes, please follow any rules of your country's postal service. We don't want anyone getting in trouble :-)

Yes I understand...I'll take anything my partner design. However, I'll put mine in the envie bcos nice postcards tend to disappear mysteriously. I hope my partner can do so too.

Do the stamps have to be real postage stamps? or can they be faux postage?

BlueDragonfly 08/21/2008 #

They need to be REAL postage stamps. If you are in the U.S. you probably have 100s of flag and liberty bell stamps. This is your chance to use those generic stamps up!

AARGH! I have a box of stamps somewhere, and I can't find them!!! I really want to play, but only if I can find my box of stamps today. cross your fingers for me, because this is a cool swap, and I want to join in the fun!

I've been watching and thinking about doing this, then read Susi's post, and scurried off to find MY stamps. (I covered a "cigar" box for office items in our trailer, and everyone gives me stamps. I DID find them after a bit of a search. So, I'm in! I'll send them naked (unless I get a partner that asks for an envelope).
