Description: | |
This swap is for people who are beginners at making Pocket Letters--no experience necessary! Just a willingness to try something new... Each swapper will have one partner, and will make one pocket letter to swap. There is no set theme, however it is always good to look at your partner's profile, and try to include things that will be pleasing. The front of each pocket should be decorated in some way, and the back may also be decorated, that is sender's choice. One pocket must contain a letter to your swap partner, and be sure to put the swap name and your swap-bot ID somewhere in that letter, for ease of rating. The other pockets may contain whatever goodies you like to send, however, please send a variety--so no more than 2 pockets with the same thing (teabags, stickers, inspirational quotes, etc.--these things are all good, but variety is the goal...) You may have an overarching theme for your pocket letter, like "vintage" or "Christmas" or "birds", or it can be more random, just a collection of things you think your partner will like. There is nearly a month between signup deadline and sending date, I want people to feel comfortable with the amount of time they can spend on this project. In the PPU Group Forum topic "Thinking outside of the box", about 3/4 of the way down the first page, group member @crescendo links to a great list of items you can add to pocket letters, and in that same topic, several other group members have excellent contributions...I encourage you to check out that topic and others in the forum. As with all my swaps, if you are flaked on, I will be happy to angel, after you have rated your swap partner a "1". I have made this swap USA only, if international group members would like an international version of this beginners' swap, please PM me, and I will be happy to set one up. Edited 5/2/15 to add: I had a question from a swapper, asking if this swap is for a pocket letter with filled pockets or for an artistic pocket letter, with 9 little pieces of artwork and no expectation of other goodies in the pockets... My expectation for this beginners' swap is that there will be small things in 8 pockets, and a letter to your swap partner in one pocket, and that the front of each pocket will be decorated in some way, so that when the pockets are empty, it is still attractive and appealing enough for your partner to want to keep in an album. I plan to decorate the backs of the pockets on mine as well, but that is optional. (image by Laurie Finch) |
