Description:

I got this idea for a swap after knitting a squash from a recipe I found online. It was so much fun I thought it would be really great to base a swap around knitting vegetables for a harvest display.

For your swap you will knit 3 vegetables in autumn colours and send one to each of your 3 swap partners. In this way, everyone will get 3 random knitted autumn vegetables for a beautiful autumnal display! For hearts include lovely postcards, nice buttons, bits of ribbon or cloth that could also be used in a harvest display.

If you use a pattern that you found online, please put the details of the pattern in your swap package for your food-knitting partner's interest!

It is not important what type of yarn is used but if your partner is allergic to wool, obviously use a synthetic. It is fine to knit with acrylic for this swap; don't use up your priceless silk skeins knitting vegetables! The idea here is inexpensive fun, stash-busting and turning odd skeins of yarn you have into beautiful objects for a harvest display.

Here are some colour ideas: olive, taupe, tawny, marmalade, carrot, fawn, chocolate, cocoa, coffee-brown, rust, golden, sage, berry, russet

Here are some vegetable ideas: squash, pumpkin, courgette, carrot, leek, nuts, apples, rhubarb, beetroot, mushroom, grape...

No flakers or time-wasters too; this swap is only open to knitters with good ratings of 4.5+ I will look through everyone's profile before assigning partners and weed out any flakers or people with poor/no feedback. It is time-consuming and skilled to knit vegetables and I want everyone on this swap to get a quality exchange for their valuable efforts.
