You asked for it, you got it, it's the return of the fantastic Blindfolded ATC swap hooray! Your ATC can be done in any medium you are comfortable with and should include a background, a middle ground (or focus) and some sort of accent. For example, I might do a water colour wash first. Then try to draw some cute kittens in the middle in ink pen. Then maybe I’ll bust out a gel pen and draw a bow on (heh, or near) the kitten. Or, you could collage a background, stamp a middle ground, add a brad embellishment. The possibilities are really endless. The subject matter etc of the ATC is sender’s choice*. And did I mention, you must make your ATC while BLINDFOLDED. There are a few ways you could go about this. If you are a master of dexterity, you can use a precut ATC and go straight to work blindfolded. If you are human like the rest of us, you can start with a bigger piece of paper, go crazy, then cut it down to ATC size somewhere in between things (yes, you can take off your blindfold to cut your ATC to size, I’m not a monster.) A few tips for success (because I tried this out before putting the swap up) This ATC should be made on quality paper. No printer paper nonsense. No sticker slapping. If, when you take off your blindfold you find that there are bits sticking up off the page because you didn’t glue them down enough, you can affix them a little better if you want. If you glued something that is only half on the card, lop it off or fold it back. *Message your partner (or check their profile) before you send anything explicit, other than that, do what you want. Be sure to put your username and the name of the swap on the back of your ATC. If you receive an ATC from your partner that is the correct size, looks like it was done blind folded, and follows all the other above requirements, you should rate a 5. I am going to go ahead and say I do not endorse sending extras in this swap. I won’t say you can’t, but I think the swap should count for itself. These will probably not be masterpieces, but that’s ok. They’ll be fun. PLEASE AT LEAST SKIM THE FOLLOWING BEFORE SIGNING UP To join this swap you must have a 4.96 rating or higher. If you have a one that is recent or could be made up, you will not be welcome in this swap. If you have any recent threes you will also not be welcome in this swap. If you believe you have an extraordinary circumstance regarding a recent three or one, it is your job to message me as soon as you sign up for this swap with an explanation so we can talk about it. If I don't have a message from you, I will drop you. You need to have at least 10 completed and rated type 2 (or type 3) swaps under your belt to join. I will angel if necessary as long as you have rated your partner a one. But let’s not flake, okay? I will drop anyone I feel is sketchy or unfit for the swap. This is an international version. If you only participate in US only swaps, I will be hosting another US only version of this swap in the next week or so, so you can keep an eye out. |
