Description:

I came across this idea online and thought it was awesome and hilarious at the same time.

This is what you'll do:

Get a padded bra with the underwire. Glue or sew the cups together to form a pouch. You can either remove the straps and reattach where you desire or leave them as is. Embellish the heck outta the bra and you end up with a very cute (and unique) handbag.

I made some of these for my girls and they LOVED them. They're big enough to carry a cell phone, lipstick and a coin purse (unless you use a Super Hooter bra, LOL)

Here are a couple websites:

http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Bra-Purse

http://www.gomestic.com/Do-It-Yourself/Amazing-Uses-for-Old-Bras.63891

These are so much fun to make! You can find cute bras at garage sales, thrify stores or perhaps you have one ot two in your closet that are too big or small. Whatever the source DO make sure the bra is clean and not all torn up and nasty.

You will have 2 partners. You will make 1 bra bag for each partner. Be creative and enjoy!

Just reading about this had me in stitches. How could I NOT sign up??

This is hilarious! I want to make them, but I don't know if I want to get them in return! :D

I'll have to hit the thrift stores to see what I can find, but I'm definately watching this swap! (I've also got to get my sewing machine fixed too.)

Na195097-you can use hot glue to stick the cups together and sew on embellishments by hand. A sewing machine isn't required...and might be a bit difficult to do anyways...LOL

Cerwinrhiannon-If you know of any teenage girls...they LOVE these bags. They'd also make a great donation to Relay for Life for Breast Cancer fundraising!

Na195097, I've heard when they are well embellished you can't tell they are bras.

Goodness the links above do look like a bra. Here's the first tutorial I saw for one... http://www.sewing.org/html/bra_purse.html I actually have a bra I never wear (dh bought it) that I wanted to try this with. If nothing else my daughter will play with it. Here's another link... http://www.mcuniverse.com/Bra-Purse.1768.0.html

OMG this is sooo funny...i have to do it. Do we have to use Bras or can we use bikini tops too? If this works out well, I know what my sister in law's getting for xmas!! Pimp my Bra :)

What a clever, cute and creative idea! I just finished making mine--easy as 1-2-3!! It's embellished and all patched up, and looking good!!I had so much fun making this!!

For this one it should be an actual bra. I went to a thrift store and bought up the trashy (porn star) bra's. We did use bikini tops before and my girls use them to put water bottles in when they are riding their bikes since the material stretches.
