This is a swap for washi tape lovers! I have done similar swaps outside of swap-bot, let's see if anyone is interested to do this here :) For this swap, you will prepare a white cardstock measuring between 4x6 to 5x7 inch (10x15 to 12x17 cm). You can also use one of those ready made make-your-own type of blank postcards if you have them. You will decorate one side with a collage of stripes of washi tapes from your collection. Washi tapes must cover the whole side of the card. The design is sender's choice. Some ideas :
The picture above is just an example of a card that I made in the past. Size of each strip, direction of the strips and other design elements involved are sender's choice. Please use AT LEAST 5 different tapes for the card. The back of the card will be for address, stamps and messages as any other postcards. I understand that washi tapes have different qualities, some sticks better than the others. For this swap, you can choose to send the card either naked or in an envelope. If sending the card naked, please make sure the card base is firm enough, and that you have trimmed the sides neatly. Use fixatives, finishing mediums, or clear adhesive film on top of your tape collage if you find it necessary to do so. If you're not sure the tapes will survive the travel without falling apart, you can send in an envelope or an OPP plastic bag with the part on top of the stamps cut out. Tell your partner about your washi obsession or collection in your message :)
This is basically sender's choice, so you can start your card immediately. If you want, you can also check your partner's profile to match their favorite color or themes when partners are assigned. Have fun with your washi tapes collage! |
