Description: | |
I got this idea from a couple swaps I have done, and others I have seen. Minimum rating of 4.95, with minimum of 30 Type 3 swaps, no 1's or 3's in the last 6 months. This is time and labor intensive, so I cannot allow newbies on this one, I am sorry! This "journal" is a variety of things, some refer to as a "magpie" journal. I think of it as a collection of treasures. This is a book/journal that is about you, your thoughts, dreams, desires...but for your partner, so please take them into consideration as well. If you are Christian, and want to share that you went to church, that's fine, and this is sender's choice, but if your partner isn't religious they aren't going to enjoy being "preached" at, lots of religious ephemera, etc. Please have a look at their profile and consider them and their feelings. I, for example, have a severe phobia of spiders, so would not enjoy a page devoted to pictures and stories about your pet tarantula! Guidelines for this swap include: 1) You can create a book, if you know how to make one of good quality. This is not take some paper and fold it type of thing. You can also alter a premade/bought journal or notebook. You can put it in a binder with rings, etc. Please decorate the cover and some of the inside pages as well. Go wild. Make it beautiful, glitzy, elegant, the choice is yours. Any concerns about weight? This may get quite full and heavy, but a Priority Mail padded envelope is only $6.10, and worth it to protect your treasure as it is sent out into the world! 2) The book size is up to you, but must be at least 7 1/2" x 9 1/2" with at least 80 pages to give room for all your entries. 3) Things that MUST be included!!! a) your name/your user name on swap-bot b) your pages must be full of whatever it is you would like to include for your partner. Try to include but not limited to - artwork, recipes, thoughts/journaling, quotes, song lyrics, ticket stubs from a movie you saw - then write about it, etc. Make this something you would want to receive from your partner. "The book is pretty much to fill it with what you want. You can have more than one topic on a page. You could draw on part of a page and journal on another part. You could put your to do list on a page, draw around it, make it colorful, etc. Its pretty much whatever goes type of journal. Just don't focus on one topic or theme - such as don't make a cook book journal, or don't make an art journal. You want to let yourself soar with an Everything Journal. Have fun with it. Make it interesting reading for your partner." c) Include small gifts/surprises for your partner - whether it be a bookmark, atc, artwork, poetry, stickers, etc. in little pockets interspersed throughout the book. There should be at least 10 things/pockets. Those of you who know about SMASH books, this is kind of like that. d) Include AT LEAST one page for your partner telling about yourself. Who are you? What do you like? Do you have pets? The last journal in this category I received was wonderful, but had very little about the author or her day-to-day life, which I found disappointing. e) number of pages to fill? - minimum of 50 pages, with 10 of those having your envelopes/bags/whatnot of surprises for your partner |
