Gift Card ATC

I LOVE this idea. I work at Target, and we have such cute giftcards, it's crazy. I collect them, in fact, so it won't be too hard for me to get a few good ones.

I have a great butterfly one from target! You are right, they have some awesome ones... my ? is do you have to buy them? The girl @ starbucks gave me some the other day and said I didn't have 2 pay for just the card when i was doin that atc swap and i told her i had 2 art projects to do and she gave me 2 of everything...so i did some really cute ones by mounting them(to make them the right size!) on some glittered cardstock and embellishing them! I even have 2 done and ready 2 go from that swap!

ALSO! EVERYONE Please check out on my profile the 3 new atc swaps i posted lastnight! these are my first public swaps...I am really excited about the atc & a painting 2 match swap! It is a small 5 x 7 inch canvas and will be alot of fun...dont be intemidated!!! Just go for it!!! Have fun!!! I got a lady's first painting last month in another swap and it is great! she saw i like peacocks and did a teal background with a simple stylized blacksilhouette of him using a little texture medium in her acrylic paint and it is awesome! She also sent me the graphic she looked at and some embroidered applique peacock feathers as extras!!!AN AWESOME SWAP! Simple but impressive...I can't wait 2 see what you all do...there are SO MANY talented people on here! THANX<CC

No, you don't have to buy them. You can get them any way you please. If Starbucks will just give them to you, that's great! Who knew they would give them to you for free?

Most department stores have kiosks set up neat the checkouts or the gilf wrap areas with the gift cards on display. All you have to do is pick the ones you want. You shouldn't have to "buy" a giftcard because if you are going to alter it, you can't spend it.

Great news!!! I was just @ Target and they have some really cuteones!!! they have some with a free lipgloss, or mini deck of cards(I will use on my apc!!!), or cute vintage style animal puzzle where u turn the handles on one of the 4 sections of the body and it changes characters...the kids were fighting over that one! and the sign said they were free w/ gift card...so i asked the manager how much you had to put on the giftcard to get it, he said at least $5.00 if you need a giftcard but you don't have to put money on it...they didnt care, they are free and he told me i could have all of them...i had one of each of those special gift ones in my hand and 3 w/teddybear design for that swap and 3 butterfly ones for that swap!!!

Target Rocks!.....we just don't have one in Alaska as of yet.....bummer. I'm glad you are having fun with this :-)I was working on mine yesterday and I'm liking the way they are turning out. I think my partners will be getting more than 1 each :-)

I've been collecting gift cards for a few years. I just made 4 GC ATCs today and I'm really pleased how they came out. It's too bad this swap isn't 2 ATCs for 2 people. I do have a question: Since most gift cards are smaller than ATC size, do we need to mount them on a background to make up for the size difference?

One of the gift cards I am using is a 'rub and sniff'. I hope my partners are not allergic to fragrances!

Yes, the cards should be mounted to an ATC sized card, they are a little too small on their own. Kind of frames them nicely though. I don't think I should change the amount of ATCs sent at this late date but I know what you mean, I have made extra as well and I will be sending more than one to my partners, please feel free to do the same if you like :-) I don't think anyone minds getting extra!I'm glad you are enjoying the swap!

hey paflip...EVERYONE LOVES EXTRAS! THATS WHY WE HAVE HEARTS NOW! My friends and I always send an extra atc now ...because thats what atc lovers love!And you can tell by all the hearts although you will occassionally run into someone who won't give a heart even when you send extras!
