Description:

Do you have gobs of washi samples stashed willy-nilly? Do you wish they were better organized? This is the swap you've been waiting for!

Create for one partner a storage booklet for washi samples. Get creative and crazy...washi crazy anyway! Use envelopes or make your own pockets. Bind them together using something sturdy, packing tape, sewn, metal rings, etc. Decorate each "page" (pocket) with washi tape. Each page will be a different color using the following guide.

  • red
  • pink
  • orange
  • yellow/gold
  • green
  • blue
  • purple
  • black/white/silver
  • brown
  • rainbow/multi colored

So, your booklet will have ten decorated pockets in it. They can open either on the side or at the top of the book. Each envelope should be 4.25 x 5.5 inches (standard A2 envie) and will accommodate two playing cards side by side.

Reinforce your envies with packing tape so they won't tear. You can do this after you decorate them so the washi won't come off.

When you have all your pages finished, bind them together and add a cover if you like. Then, insert one playing card inside each envie/pocket with a variety of tapes that go with the page. (Red tapes in the red pocket, blue in the blue, etc.) If you don't have any of that color, don't put that tape in the envie. Just make sure there are at least five cards of samples in pouches.

This is a rather time and effort extensive swap, so I am giving a month to complete it. If you have questions, please message me. I have not done this before, so I'll be learning right along with you!

Absolutely no idea who to do this one, but it sounds like such a good idea! I'm going to have to research this on pinterest!

Yes, it does sound like a good challenge. It will be good for us, won't it! :)

Perhaps some sort of envelope book could work. Google research could be key. I'm game!
