Description:

I just happen to be surfing around and found a site where a man was collecting pictures of different types of boards. I was amazed at the different types in terms of shapes, colors ,size, fonts, decoration. I realized that my artistic heart (lol) was telling me to make one of these. So for this swap, you will have 1 partner. You will make them a custom Ouija board and planchette. Just for a base standard, lets say this will need to be made on a hard sturdy surface, as opposed to paper or cardboard. Make it as beautiful and creative, as possible, and we will call it senders choice, but you may want to read your partners profile to see if there's something you can incorporate. I will be giving a lot of time for this as its pretty time intensive mee thinks.

I want to say (gently) please think long and hard before entering this swap. This isn't a beginner project. Make sure you can create something that your partner will cherish.

**EDIT: I wanted to edit this to include the box or carrying case for your board. It can be either like a decorated cardboard like a regular Ouija boards or some other kind of case.that will also make it easier to ship.

No unexplained low ratings--Think before you join.-This will be pretty intensive

Since this will be pretty large, can we make something foldable? The way most board games come?

Rie60 05/13/2014 #

Sure I would think that could work- Like maybe hinges ( since it needs to be on something stable-) I even saw ones that folded and had their own little cases.

ok for some reason my edit isn't showing up- but I think we need to include a box or case also- easier to ship and nicer to store etc....

small tins work great with a guitar pic as the planchette (cardboard as the base inside (just an idear ) lol

Rie60 05/13/2014 #

I saw those- I feel for whoever gets mine, because I'm going full size board and planchette. I want to think that centuries from now it will still be floating around somewhere :) (clear out a closet!)

Ive had 2 people so far write and say that although they don't think they have the skill to do it, they would love to see the finished products--so maybe if we all take a pic of the one we make we can start a thread to show them

Visit a thrift store for inexpensive games and use the boards for your base. Some newer games are even folded already! :O) Lovely swap idea!

This sounds very cool. Please post pictures when you're done!

Great idea @Peacewytch It can't be too hard to recover a used board game!

kittenmonster 05/14/2014 #

I am SO EXCITED about this!

Rie60 05/15/2014 #

Great idea peacewytch! It might also come with a box (bonus!)- I got my board, it was one of those solid fiber board plaques- now Im just ruminating on ideas!

Sounds like a fun swap I'd join but don't have time. Please host again in the future.
