This is a new version of an old swap favorite, the 5” fabric charm square swap but with a twist! It is time to build up our stash of 5” fabric charms and include complimentary charms as well.

Charming Charms are 100% cotton quilting fabric cut 5”X5” from two different fabrics that coordinate or compliment each other. Please do not send low grade loosely woven fabrics, and always send the quality you would want to receive.

The first set of five Charming Charms should be a print in the color for that month and the second set of five charms should compliment the first print. Charming Charms are coordinated charms that can be used together in various projects.

So in April you will select a pastel print fabric and cut five 5”X5” charms from that fabric. Then you will pick another fabric that compliments the first one and cut five 5”X 5” charms from that color. You will send each partner a total of ten charms each month.

Example: If your pastel print has blue flowers in it cut the complimentary Charming Charms from a blue print fabric to match the blue flowers in the green base fabric. Please note that your base fabric can have as many or as few other colors in it as you like as long as pastel is obvious. Your complimentary print should accent the pastel print but be in a much smaller print to use as an accent and not to outshine the base fabric. Plain fabric can only be used as a complimentary fabric if your receiving partners allow. I would prefer not to get plain fabrics. Thanks!

                5 pastel print 5”X5” charms

                5 accent/complimentary 5”X5” charms 

Total charms sent to one partner should be 10 for a grand total of 20 charms cut from two different fabrics each month.

I reserve the right to decline participation by any swapper especially if they have any recent unaccounted for “1” ratings, are often caught sending late, or are flakers. I will allow “newbies” if they have completed at least 5 other type “3” swaps. My base rule is any profile rate lower than 4.8 is too high a risk for flakers.

If anyone is interested in setting up an INTERNATIONAL version of this swap series please contact me. With the increase of postage fees recently I am unable to host an INTERNATIONAL version.

May = purple

June = blue

July = yellow

August = aqua or turquoise or teal

September = black and white (you may add another color if you want – senders choice)

October = orange and or browns (senders choice)

November = polka dots (senders choice of color)

December = Christmas prints (senders choice of colors)
