Well hello fellow swappers. I am always thinking how nice it would be to have a penpal (digital or snailmail) to talk about art of all kind, show own work, ask for opinion etc. I personally am unlucky and don't have many real artist friends for that. So maybe this swap would be a nice idea, who are looking for international art-friends. This is how I thought it would work: For this swap, you will send your partner a letter with some of your own art in it, for example: a handdrawn picture/card, an ATC, maybe you are a digital artist and include some print. After that it is up to you whether you want to keep in touch with this artpal (not sure if this word exists, now it does :P) and if you would like to do this via email or facebook or snailmail (sending artwork back anf forht might get a bit pricy) This swap should give you the opportunity to talk about your work and other's work, improve yourself, learn different views, approaches, opinions. I have absolutely no idea if this swap is interesting for anyone here, but just in case it is and one new artpal is not enough for you, message me here on swap-bot or through my email and "sign up" for the open list. All participants on the open list, I will send an email including all in CC, including their swap nick, real name and email, also website or any other portfolio link they have. Then you can email each other as well and have more than just one new artpal. If you would rather stick to this one new artpal, no worries, just don't message me, or message me saying you would like not to ^^ For the rating: Since your swap partner will send some of his work and also a letter saying something about him/herself, what artstyle he likes and so on, you need to rate a 5, whether it is something you like or not. If not and you don't want to keep in touch, just send a quick thank you note and tell them you are not on the same page. Art sent is NOT required to be made just for this swap (like if you wouldl ike to send some of your old stuff that's cool) but I will leave about 2 weeks in between sign up and mail deadline just in case you would like to make something profile based. But I request the artwork, whatever it may be, to be a good quality! A list of what could be sent: sketches, portrait, comic, any media, own prints etc. What should NOT be sent: torn pieces (unless it is part of the art), dirty work, something with absolutely no effort in it. It would be nice to write a bit about the piece you are sending, saying when you did it, how, why etc. in the letter. I made this a type 3 swap because I believe that postage is not too cheap when including a few sheets, but you are not required to send out whole packages. I think flat mail is just fine. This could be a fun swap, I hope many join. You don't have to be a professional artist to join, but be sincere about drawing/painting and improving. We all started at some point. This will be not for newbies, sorry and only high rating. I want people here to be sincere about this. Any questions or suggestions message me, I'll be happy to answer you :) (Image above is my own. It says 2013 I know, I made this last year. Hope you don't mind) |
