Description:

Hi Everyone! I'm hosting a series of Beginners ATC Swaps. :) If you have any theme suggestions, please send me a msg.

The theme for this ATC is Black & White. You don't need a tux for this swap, but formal attire of Black & White is required. ;) Just teasing! This ATC should only be Black & White, no other colours please. :-D

This swap is mainly for ATC Beginners but seasoned crafter's are welcome to join as well. :) Just be aware that we're not all ATC master artists, so judge on effort, not artistic ability.

You will have 1 partner.

This is an International swap.

Requirements:

  • Create 1 ATC with any medium you choose (paint, collage, embellishments, rubber stamps, draw, washi tape, glitter, feathers, zentangle, etc...) The possibilities are endless!

  • ATC must be a 2.5" x 3.5" card made of heavy card stock, box board or thick paper of a similar type. Make sure it's not flimsy or you may get rated a 3 for not following swap guidelines.

  • ATC must be Black & White ONLY with no other colours.

  • Write on the Back of the ATC the title of the card, your name, your Swap-Bot username, date created, and the name of the swap.

  • NO sticker slapping! Make an effort, be creative and send something you'd be happy to receive.

  • You must have a 4.97 rating or higher with no unresolved 1 or 3 ratings. I will be checking ratings.

  • Newbies are welcome but must have a well completed profile to participate. I will be checking profiles and if you don't have a well filled out profile, you'll be removed from the swap.

  • Only sign up if you are going to participate. NO FLAKERS!

  • I will angel if necessary, but please don't make it necessary! Once you rate your partner a 1, I'll angel the swap. Please send me a msg if this happens.

Please msg me if you have any questions. Thanks!!

I tried to make an ATC just now. Is it really THAT small? only 6.3 x 8.9 cm?!?

Hope I didn't get it all wrong!

CarlaDMG 02/11/2014 #

@ Reisegern -- I believe 2.5” x 3.5” converts to slightly larger than what you wrote: 6.5cm x 9cm. They are small -- the same size as trading cards (e.g., baseball, music, Pokemon).

Reisegern 02/12/2014 #

@ CarlaDMG Thanks for your quick answer. I used an online-tool for converting the length, it gave me 6,35 x 8,89 cm - which is nearly what you wrote. Is it okay, if I use those lengths the tool gave me?

Lizard 02/12/2014 #

@Reisegern Yes the measurements you have are correct.

I am looking forward to this swap. I made my ATC this arvo.

I actually came across a black and white ATC I made a while back, so I decided to sign up for the swap. I think it needs a little sprucing up before I send it out though.

It's been a really LONG time since I have done a swap! In fact, I don't know if I have done an international one before. Do I have to do something different with postage?

Tiam1980 02/17/2014 #

The postage is a bit different for international swaps. I'm in Canada so I'm not sure how much different it is for sending from the US. I would take the letter to the post office just to make sure you have the right postage. I do know that it is a bit more than a standard letter within the US. :)

@jkatz -- the international postage rate for sending a one ounce letter is $1.15 to most countries in the world (you can mail it anywhere if using the global forever stamp). It's sent just like you'd send a letter within the US -- address it and apply postage to the upper right corner. For more specifics, check out the USPS site, from which you can download the price sheets.

Thanks!

oh, I used black and BEIGE paper as an embellishment. Anyways, it is just in frame, visible one millimeter or so. I used a lot of effort for my one, so please, forgive me this little beige mistake.
