Have you ever wished that your knitting needles could be beautiful as well as functional? Here's your chance to swap two pairs of needles, that you have embellished in your own creative way and recieve two pair in return. Here are the ground-rules:

1) You may decorate the needles anyway you'd like, using any materials that strike your fancy. BUT....they must still be functional when you're done. The idea is to create art we can use. Keep that goal in mind when embellishing.

2) You may use any material you'd like for the decorative elements, but the kneedles themselves should be bamboo or wood. These are more durable and more likely to "hold" the embellishments than plastic or metal. The needles may be used, if they are in good condition.

3) Anyone with a rating below a "4" needs to contact me to discuss inclusion in this swap.

Hello everyone! I just wanted to make sure we were all aware of the postal holiday today. I didn't remember until last night and so my items will be going out tomorrow. I apologize for the delay! Thanks for your understanding - and I hope you enjoy your new needles as much as I enjoyed making them!

Ok - I'm pretty disappointed. I have not heard back from anyone, and I am the only one who has marked my items sent, so I'm assuming I'm the only one who has sent them. I would love to hear back from my other partner (Stephanie has let me know she is running behind on sending me hers). I'll be bummed if I put all that time/effort into those needles and I don't receive my 2nd pair in return. Please write back so I have some idea of what is going on. Thanks!

Hi,

I am sending today. I have Brookielou and Stephanie as partners. I am sending you both 3mm straight bamboo needles embellished with different beads/toppers. They are basically from a set of 4 long bamboo double points. I decided on a small size coz I am very into knitting lace scarves nowadays, and find circular needles cumbersome to use on such narrow scarves.
