Description:

For our first journal page swap, we will be making a fabric journal page with a minimum of two pockets big enough to each hold an ATC.

Some of the details:

  1. Size- 8.5X11" notebook.

  2. Finished buttonholes of any kind- same placement as notebook paper- for binding. A stiched line where the red line is on notebook paper will help with turning pages when the page is bound book-style.

  3. Must be made stiff enough to hold up like a page through the use of heavy interfacing, batting with heavy, close stitching, etc.

  4. Minimum of two ATC pockets- placed anywhere on the page, made in any style.

  5. Must be all fabric- the back must be fabric. Embroidered, quilted, appliqued, beaded, fabric collaged, needlefelted

  6. Only one side is required to be decorated. If you will not be stitching the back, please use a decorative fabric. It is a page after all!

  7. Any style, any theme, any color, but please take a look at your partners profile for ideas.

Put some effort into your work. These are journal pages, not just ATC holders. Be creative!

One page for one partner.

Please let me know if I have left anything out. If this swap turns out well, I hope to have a few more of these page swaps so we can have a nice book in the end.

This sounds like so much fun! I wish I could take part, but my schedule is just too complicated at the end of summer. :(

Well I am going to sign up as I think this may work as an idea I had to make my daughter a flip style book. She could then put the atc's she has received in it. A perfect way to do a prototype page signing up for deadline usually helps me focus on a concept. Looking forward to trying this. Ingrid

What kind of pockets does everyone have in mind? Not that they need to be the same, I'm just curious.

I was thinking of shaped pockets, rather than the typical squared pocket. I'm not sure of exactly what yet. I'll probably fit it to my partner's profile- it will all depend on inspiration.

Sorry for the late partner assignment. Have fun making your page!
