Description:

This idea comes directly from one of our wonderful Bev's -- Bev Tircuit!

Each participant will be creating a masterboard employing a specific background technique. If you're not sure what to do, do a little online research--there are tons of ideas out there online.

Here are the steps to take for this swap:

  • Decide on the technique you will showcase and list your technique in the comments section below

  • Create a masterboared (on heavy duty ATC-background-type paper)

  • Cut your masterboard into ATC-sized pieces.

  • VERY IMPORTANT: On the BACK side of each ATC piece, paste a typewritten instruction sheet of: 1) the products you used to achieve the effect, and 2) how you used them--NOT JUST A LIST OF PRODUCTS. We'll want to be able to duplicate your results in our own artwork.

  • When partners are assigned--I'm hoping for at least 10 to 12 participants--you'll send 1 ATC-sized background technique (backed with the products/instructions sheet) to each participant and receive many in return!

  • When you receive your ATC Technique "pages," punch a hole in each of them and string them onto a ribbon or a chain or a ring and -- VOILA! -- you have your own book of ATC background techniques!

So . . . . sign up, research a technique, list the technique you plan to use in the comments section below, create a masterboard using your chosen technique, cut the masterboard into 2.5" x 3.5" pieces, back them with instructions, wait 'til partners are assigned, mail them out!

You don't need to list your technique as soon as you sign up--just make certain that techniques are not duplicated.

Hope everyone joins--wouldn't it be wonderful to have a booklet with 25 different ATC background techniques to draw from in our own artwork? Fingers crossed, we will!

I recently accidentally created a cool background with embossing powder and a rubber stamp. That's what I will use!

And I'm going to drag out the gelli plate I've owned for two years but never used. And...I'm going to use it! Look how late I'm leaving this comment! I'm such a procrastinator.
