Let's celebrate All Hallow's Read!

'What's that?' you ask? All Hallows Read is a tradition first proposed in 2010 by author Neil Gaiman, in which people give each other scary books to read during the week of Halloween. It's that simple!

Read more about it on the official website: AllHallowsRead.com

But onto the swap! Pick one scary book for your partner, and send it to them by October 25th! The book is sender's choice, but it's always nice to check out your partner's profile and see if it's something they'll enjoy.

Since I don't want anyone to be disappointed this Halloween, there's a rating requirement of 4.8

Also: This is an international swap, since I feel that EVERYONE should have books, but if anyone wants to create their own regional version of this, be my guest :)

It was so much fun last year!

winkipinki 09/20/2013 #

Is the book new or can it be used ?

Discordia 09/20/2013 #

@winkipini it can be either new or used as long as it's in good shape!

winkipinki 09/25/2013 #

just wondering if it could be sent by a little earlier so it is likely to arrive before Halloween? I have my book and am ready to send. Love this idea !

Discordia 09/25/2013 #

Yep! You can send anytime after partners are assigned, which will be the 30th. That'll give you a little over three weeks to send before the due date :)

Can you say more about what qualifies as a "scary book"? Does this need to only be witches and goblins and vampires?

Discordia 09/28/2013 #

@mkstreet I think there's a pretty broad range of books you could send. The traditional ghosts/aliens/monsters themes are a given, but I think that things like psychological horror, thrillers, and true crime stories can be just as scary as the paranormal. I would have no problem receiving that kind of a book myself, but it's probably best to wait and see who your partner is and what kind of book they'd prefer. Feel free to state your preferences, if you have any, guys!
