Using Inchies to create a greetings card

When I started making inchies for swaps I have grand visions of creating an amazing piece of art work using all the incredible inchies collected in the swaps. In reality this has never happened…but I discovered that putting them on a greeting card was great!

So for this swap you will create 4 inchies and use them to create a handmade greetings card.

The card should be a minimum of 4inches by 5 inches. It should be left blank inside (so your partner can use it) and should be sent with an envelope. The inchies should form an integral part of the card i.e. stuck on there somewhere. The rest of the card should be decorated too to create a beautiful finished card.

You should send you partner a note to say hi and ‘pass the time of day’ – an English phrase meaning to do something to make time go by!

An inchie is a work of art, similar to an ATC that is created on a 1″ x 1″ square background. A variety of mediums may be used as a 1″ x 1″ base, e.g. card stock, wood, glass, shrink plastic. The inchie should be decorated by drawing, painting etc and /or embellished with paper, glass, wood, plastic, stickers, pictures, or any other medium. Make sure your inchies are nice and sturdy.

I am sure you will make something beautiful that your partner would love to receive.

When you come to rate the wonderful greetings card you receive please rate based on the instructions in the swap…even if the card is not quite to your taste.

Also remember you are rating the card rather than any extras you have received…it is nice to get them but they are not part of the swap.
