A masterboard is a large background piece designed to be cut up and used in smaller projects, such as ATC's, postcards and journal pages. They can be created with ink, paint, rubber stamps, collage - or any combinations thereof. For this swap, we will be creating mixed media masterboards. Create one 8.5" x 11" masterboard for one partner. The substrate you start with needs to be something sturdy, such as card stock, watercolor paper, recycled file folder, etc. You will need to use at least THREE mediums from the list below in the creation of your masterboard (substrate not included). This is sender's choice as far as colors, theme and selected mediums.
For example, the swap graphic (a masterboard I made last year) combines collage, ink (bingo markers & stamped from ink pads) and acrylic paint on watercolor paper. It was then cut up and used for ATC bases (here, here & here). You'll have plenty of time to work on making an interesting masterboard that you would be happy to receive yourself. When creating your masterboard, it's easier to think of it in parts, instead of focusing on what it will look like as a completed (whole) piece. Random is good. Because this is meant to be a background piece, to be used and added to by your partner, please stay away from chunky embellishments and DO NOT seal it with anything. When your masterboard is finished, send it to your partner flat in a large envelope. Include a note explaining what went in to the creation of your masterboard. Participation Requirements In order to participate in this swap, you must:
If you have an old 1 rating and feel that it was given unfairly, or have exhausted all avenues of making it up to your partner to no avail, PM ME to discuss it. As host, it is my responsibility to see that my swap goes off without a hitch. I reserve the right to remove any swappers I feel are questionable in order to achieve that goal. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to PM me. If you're interested in more collage-based swaps, check out my group, Cut+Paste! |
