Alphabetical Mail Art #1: A

This is the first of a series of swaps where we will each make a piece of mail art based on a letter of the alphabet. I will post these swaps in order of the alphabet A - Z at the rate of about 2 per month. You may create your mail art using any medium or combinations of mediums you choose. However, all aspects of the mail art must begin with the appropriate letter. For instance if you make your background using collage and paint, your background for this swap could consist of a map of a place that begins with “A”, some words that begin with “A”, colors that start with “A”, a page of the dictionary from the “A”s, and so on. Each image you choose must begin with the letter “A”. If you choose to paint, stamp, stencil, emboss, etc, each must begin with, (yes you guessed it) “A”. Of course, the letter itself is also allowed.

Each specific swap will no doubt have some requirements that may vary from previous swaps to keep it interesting.

For this initial swap, please create your mail art on an envelope and inside your envelope include at least 5 items (stamped images, magazine cutouts, charms or anything mixed media related that can be used in journalling or to create mail art, etc that begin with the letter “A”. These items need not be as literal as those used to create your mail art.)

For this series of swaps, keep all images, etc, literal in meaning. for instance, a sunset is a sunset, not viewpoint, peaceful, evening etc. An apple is an apple, not the type of apple such as macintosh, etc.. There are so many examples I could use here, but please just keep your meaning obvious. Not all of us are familiar with the various breeds of horses, but we all can recognize a chihuahua or a dalmatian I’m pretty sure.

Lets have fun with this one! :)

Newbies welcome! We all have to start somewhere. :)

thanks @papermoon ! It should be a fun one.. being a series you can always keep your eye open for specifics that start with future letters. At this point, thats pretty wide open! haha!!
