Description:

I was looking on Etsy and saw that there a couple zines where the creator focused on ONE food and made a zine centered around that food. So... I would love to do a zine swap with this same idea. Each of us will pick a type of food category and create an 8 page zine around that.

Some theme examples are:

cookies

soups

chili's

pizza's

casseroles

cheesecakes

salsas

pies

crock pot dishes

cupcakes

drinks

Italian food

Chinese food

(feel free to use any of the above topics)

SWAP GUIDELINES:

*To create your zine you may use any type of techniques. So sketch, collage, word processor, typewriter, handwritten, photos.... create it as you wish.

*Entire zine must have to do with the food category you are choosing. Please don't go as broad as "desserts" or "Main Dishes"

Rather choose a type of dessert or type of main dish.

*The completed size must be no larger than quarter page (about 4.5 inches x 5.5 inches). You may also make a zine smaller than the typical mini size. Minimum 8 pages (including front and back covers).

*Make it, copy it, put it together and mail one copy each to your 4 partners.

Swappers must have a minimum rating of 4.95, no unexplained 1's or 3's.

What is a zine??? A zine is a magazine/pamphlet/booklet that you make and publish yourself (usually photocopied). They can contain anything you like for example: Poetry, opinions, recipes, a comic, photographs, stories, reviews, sketches, personal experience, journal style. They can be completely written, completely art or anywhere in between. Here is a link to instructions for creating an 8 page zine template from one piece of paper. So "casserole" or "cakes", or would a versatile food like "ginger" or "rice" be OK?

soyprincesa2 04/12/2013 #

@Lady ... yes that is just fine.

FYI to everyone. I will be hosting a zine swap in a couple months where you actually pick a specific food item/ingredient and base an entire zine around it. An example would be if you choose the ingredient tomatoes. Then you talk about different types of tomatoes and then share a recipe for homemade tomato sauce, a tomato soup, and a southwest salad with tomatoes on top. I will wait till this swap is nearly over to post this zine.
