Description:

For this swap you will have 1 partner and you will create 1 lovely piece of mail art for that partner. The "theme" of the mail art will be: color! You will choose a specific color and create a mail art using your chosen color.

Requirements:

  • 1 piece of mail art to 1 partner

  • mail art you create will be MOSTLY monochromatic although you can use small bits of accent colors

  • color will be SENDER'S CHOICE

  • envelope must measure at least 4" x 5" but can be larger

  • you must use postage stamps instead of printed postage--the more stamps used the merrier!

  • you must include a flat surprise(s) for your partner (suggestions: postcards, a notecard, another mail art envelope, stickers, etc)

Since I like to begin preparing my swaps before partners are assigned, I'm sticking with sender's choice on the color selection. So...if you have a problem with a specific color--a deadly allergy to pink, for example--this is probably not the best swap for you. All colors are really beautiful in their own way!

Participants must have a cumulative 4.9+ rating. Newbies are welcome with a well-filled-out profile. Swappers must be ACTIVE (been recently rated) and have logged into swap-bot within 2 days of partner assignment.

Hi I need a swap bot

fawnscrafts 04/11/2013 #

Well browns and oranges are not the best of my colors, but I have never seen a good artist use those colors in a manner that did not do them justice.

fawnscrafts 04/11/2013 #

should the flat surprise match or does that matter?

isabellasnow 04/11/2013 #

@fawnscrafts ..I never even thought of that! Since I started the swap without specifying, I won't insist they match--but if you CAN match, that would be super! Since you suggested it, I'm going to match mine.

What is mail art exactly?

rachwms 04/21/2013 #

let me be more specific in my question. Do you just decorate the envelope? Or do you enclose a small piece of your art too?

Rachwms,

Go to Google. Click on Images. Type in mailart. There are literally thousands of examples. I can see where you would question it. No need to include art on the inside. The art is for you to find winking at you in your mailbox and for every postal worker lucky enough to handle it on its journey to its receiver. I am a mail art nut these days!
