Description:

For this swap you will have 1 partner, and for that partner you will create one piece of mail art featuring. . . BIRDS! Now that spring is here, I hear lovely bird song every morning, so let's send our partner a sweetly singing birdie through the mail.

Here are the requirements:

  • envelope must measures at least 4" x 5", but can be larger

  • envelope can be created by you and embellished with a bird theme OR you can use a ready-made envelope and embellish with a bird theme

  • inside you will place a flat bird-themed surprise costing no less than $1.00 U.S.

  • must be stamped with real postage stamps instead of printed codes from a printer or the post office (this adds to the beauty!) Who knows? You might even find a bird stamp!

  • any bird is acceptable--from flamingo to owl to robin to ostrich and everything in-between!

Some suggestions of what to put inside: another mail art envelope, bird stickers, bird notes, bird pockets for smashing, bird postcards, etc. Just select something fairly flat to keep postage to a minimum.

If you send a paper-based surprise, you SHOULD get by with 1 oz, so it would cost $1.10 to go anywhere in the world! (or $.46 within the U.S.)

Participants must have a cumulative 4.9 rating. Newbies welcome with a very well-filled-out profile. Join with confidence; I'm always happy to angel my hosted swaps.

Unfortunatly I can't join because I'm new, but I love the bird-theme!

Just listing here some of my favourite birds to give my partner-to-be some ideas :)! I´m happy with any bird, of course, but sometimes it´s easier if you have something to start with... So my favourite number one is European robin, but I also like owls, tits/chickadees, ravens/crows and all blue birds. Prefer small birds to big ones, excluding the ones mentioned above, of course!

Are we supposed to list what kind of birds we like??? I thought it just had to feature birds: "any bird is acceptable". ???

Pikkis 04/16/2013 #

No charlottenc, we´re NOT supposed to do that, but if you read my message carefully I said that I just want to give my partner some ideas about the birds I like. Just like I said, any bird is acceptable for me as well!
