Description:

Put on your thinking caps and grab your backpack--we're going on a scavenger hunt! The idea is to gather a collection of items that fit into the categories below. There are three different lists and a number of items to find on each list (to ensure we all spend the same amount of money and get about the same amount of item worth).

Find one thing from this list:

  • Your favorite YA book
  • A YA book you've recently read
  • A YA book by a new-to-you author
  • A YA book you have read and want to give a new home
  • A YA book you would recommend to anyone
  • A YA book you read but didn't like and hope your partner likes better
  • A YA book by your partner's favorite YA author

Find two things from this list:

  • Something signed by a YA lit author
  • A YA lit-themed piece of jewelry
  • A snack/treat a specific YA lit character would enjoy
  • An item (more than just a piece of paper) with "YA Saves" or similar message on it
  • Something one of your favorite YA lit characters can't live without (a wand, a journal, a compass, etc.)
  • A useful item your swap partner can use in future District 13 swaps (swap cards, address labels, YA-themed notecards, etc.)
  • A small, giftwrapped profile surprise

Find four things from this list:

  • A review you've written (more than 1 page long) about a YA book you've read in the past year
  • A small booklet or zine containing at least ten of your favorite quotes from YA literature
  • A YA lit-themed bookmark
  • A YA lit-themed magnet
  • An ATC based on a YA book you've read this year
  • A Young Adult Artist Trading card (made by you or someone else)
  • A top ten list of your favorite YA books ever
  • A postcard from a place featured in a YA book, written from the YA character's POV
  • A booklet or zine guide to surviving your favorite YA book series (ex: don't read at night or you'll have nightmares, have tissues ready during the last book, etc.)
  • A list of at least ten different YA lit websites you enjoy visiting, with URLs

So that's a total of 7 (lucky number 7!) items to gather and lots to choose from. Used books are fine, as long as they are in very good condition. Please observe your partner's allergies/dislikes. You'll have about a month to put the package together after partners are chosen.

You must include a note with a list of what item fits into what category. You may send more than 7 items if you wish.

You must have done at least 10 type 3 swaps, be a swap-bot and group member in good standing, and have a rating of at least 4.85.
