Description:

This will be a one-to-one swap meaning that each person will make and send one card and then receive one card in return.

Because the number of people who have signed up is huge (56 to date, plus 23 maybe), I must use a site to help me handle all the information and partner assignments.

Many people have not yet sent their addresses and using Swap Bot will require everybody to do so to sign up.

Sorry for the extra hassle for those of you who have already sent me their info ... you will have to create a profile on Swap Bot, but this is the only way this can work for me. You will only have to create a profile once. For future swaps (and I plan to have many), you will already be set up.

You will not be exchanging cards directly. In other words, person A will send to B and B will send to C, NOT A to B and B to A.

Since each person will be making ONE card, you can put all your attention on that card rather than on making multiples of the same card.

Signup: I will extend the signup deadline to Wednesday, January 23 to give everybody a little extra time.

Partners will be assigned the next day on January 24.

Send cards: All cards should be sent out by January 31 to be absolutely certain that cards are received in time for Valentine's Day on February 14. You can start making your cards right now.

Swapper's locations: You can be anywhere. This is an international swap.

Note that I will be using the SWAP Flakers group to check for names of people who have been reported as flakers to make sure that nobody is matched up with a known flaker. Swap Bot also has a rating system and I will use that as well.

Someone asked: "I’m thinking about joining the swap but I have never done one before. Do you send the card with an envelope for them to use or just send them the card and they figure out an envelope later if they want to use it."

Send the card in an envelope and address it to your swap partner. As mentioned in the Facebook group, if you want to address the card to your swap partner, please use a sticky note or loose sheet of paper inside the card rather than writing inside the card. This way, if your swap partner wants to use the card for someone else, they can.

If your swap partner wants to send the card to someone else, they will have to use one of their own envelopes to address it to the this other person.

Fun!! We have a nice big group. Once you receive your cards from your swap partners, I would love it if you would post pictures on my ScrappyDIVA page at https://www.facebook.com/ScrappieDIVA so we can see all the different cards made :) I presume the system will assign partners just after midnight and will check on this tomorrow morning.
