Description:

Once Upon a Time... Fables, rumours, novels, movies, biographies, newsletters, journals, radio, television, letters, emails, and even just some people's eyes. They're all story-telling mediums. We've been writing, reading and creating stories for centuries, and it's time to share yours.

Scribble it down on paper, type it, scratch it into a stone; just materialise it. Get it from your brain onto some physical thing which another human being can put their hands on. Put it in the post and share it with your partner. It's as simple as that.

Specifics

  • You need to have a 4.9 rating
  • You need to have no unexplained 1s or 3s (if you can tell me why you have them, I'll probably allow it )
  • Your story should be at least 1,500 words (which isn't that long, and probably won't be enough for most people, so absolutely feel free to go over this)
  • If you plan on handwriting this, please make sure it's legible. I love reading other people's stories, but we can only read them if they're readable!
  • If you know you don't have time for this swap, please don't join. I'm willing to angel if worst comes to worst, but don't join without the intention to complete the swap.
  • It's obviously senders choice for this swap, so as long as you get your story on time and it's 1,500 words or more, your partner gets a five, whether you like the story or not.
  • Don't treat this as a chore. Enjoy writing your story. A forced story is never a good one.

Enjoy!

Haha, what great timing. I just bought the perfect thing for this last night on a whim! They are 9 dice with simple images on each side (all different) and you roll them all and make a story based on the images that are face up. Is this fate or what? :P

I hope you do this again -- too much going on this time of year (we will have almost the whole family for Christmas, 19 people total!) but I would love to join a future swap. Happy holidays!

@PukeFacedFreak Are they called Story Cubes?!?! @Gabrielle I'll definitely be doing another one, what month is better for you?

PukeFacedFreak 12/10/2012 #

Yes they are. :)

The Story Cubes are great. I have a set.

We use them in our language classes, and I absolutely adore them.

Looks like my partner is getting more than one story. I wrote out the first and it's very boring.

@cynaemon I spent the evening working on my story. I had a good time. :) It will be mailed to you tomorrow (12/18).

Second came out better. :)

Story going out to my partner. It's dropped in the box for the morning pickup. Enjoy!
