This swap may have limited participation since I'm not sure how many of these types of postcards there are out there, but I thought I'd give it a try. :) For this swap we'll be sending one store-bought touristy postcard to one partner. The card should show an ethnic enclave of some sort. For example, New York City, San Francisco and Singapore all have a Chinatown. Pennsylvania has an Amish Country, as does Ohio. Los Angeles has a Little Tokyo and a Koreatown. Brighton Beach, Brooklyn is the largest community of Russian-speaking immigrants in the United States, and Borough Park, Brooklyn, is one of the largest Orthodox Jewish communities in the world. Postcards showing any of these places would be acceptable. And although we know that Italy is primarily inhabited by Italians and China is primarily Chinese, general postcards from these countries do not count for this swap. :) The ethnic area should be a smaller enclave within a larger city, state or country. Send the card naked or in an envelope - your choice. Happy swapping! |
