By canvas do you actually mean a canvas?

Jennifer, yes -- here is a photo of my Oct. submission.

They are small 5x5 canvas.

Jennifer, yeah that's what we've done before. At my local art supply store, there are ready-made canvases 5" x 5" (little, but not tiny) that are already stretched, treated, and mounted on wood. Michaels might have them, but I've never had much luck with the ones near me when it comes to 5x5 sized canvases. (I find the art store near me is a million times cheaper than Michaels for canvases as well.)

I'm up for this, but I presume I don't really have to have it in the mail tomorrow....

I managed to find some 5x5 canvas like things. :) So I'm good to go.

any chance of bending the rules and accepting a 5x7 canvas? we don't seem to have 5x5 ones in australia

Blackie, it would be great if you could find 5x5 becuase the effect after several of these swaps is a series of painting all the same square size. But art is art and I suppose if you contact your swap partner and clear it, I'd have no complaint.
