Description:

This swap will be similar to other Secret Sister swaps. You will send one small package (note cards, magnets, holiday ornament, earrings, soap, lip balm, bath salts, ATCs, jewelry set, etc.) to your secret sister each week, then a larger package (hat, scarf, mini-scrapbook, purse or bag, artwork, doll, stuffed toy, etc.) in the final week with a letter revealing who you are. But in this swap all of the items you send should be handmade! This swap is perfect for those of us who like to do lots of different kinds of crafting, or like to experiment with new projects. Try to tailor what you make and send to your swap partner's interests, likes and dislikes. There is no minimum cost since you may be able to do this entire swap with supplies you already have, but try to put effort and care into each thing you send.

The deadlines for the packages are as follows:

1st package: Dec 8 2nd package: Dec 15 3rd package: Dec 22 4th package: Dec 29

This should go without saying, but I will ban anyone with a low rating. New swappers are welcome but due to a recent problem with non-senders I will also be banning anyone who doesn't have their profile filled out (unless they have a good rating). This swap is in the United States and Canada only.

If our range of craftiness is limited...can we supplement with items handmade by others? What with craft fair season soon upon us...I'd be happy to support some local crafters in order to make up (or add to) some nice gifties...Not to avoid making stuff myself (that's half the fun!) - but really - how many knitted dishcloths can one person use? Please advise!

Christel - I was thinking of it more as a back-up plan...I'm always game to try new things, but if they don't turn out so well, I'd hate for a swap partner to get icky stuff! Thanks!

Hi I am Elizabeth My Mom had your name for this swap. I wanted to let you know today I mailed out a package to you. My Mom has been in the hospital for a while and was not able to complete some but I told her I would for her. She had sever Pneumonia and a couple weeks later suffered a stroke and is in a rehab facility. She unfortunately has MS as well and it made the minor stroke seem worse and she will be wheel chair bound it seems. Mom loves her crafts and she is in many many swaps between swap bot and yahoo groups and I am just now trying to catch up.

Again I/we are terribly sorry and know something is on its way to you and I hope you enjoy
