It's almost the end of Summer and the beginning of Fall, my favorite season!!!!!! Fall makes me think of Halloween, which makes me think of witches which makes me think of magick which makes me think of fantastical beasts which makes me think of trick or treating which makes me think of homemade popcorn balls.....yum! (Can you see my train of thought here?) Well enough nonsense (maybe). For this swap we will be makeing one Fall themed articulated paper doll that has some sort of hanging ability (hanging ornament?). Fall is loosely defined here. It could be a Fall color pallet, a Halloween theme, a fantastical beast inspired by children's perception of costumes.....you get the drift. THE ONLY REAL REQUIREMENT IS THAT DOLLS MUST BE HANDMADE. This means you can use some collage, but the whole doll cannot be constructed from already printed material. What I mean to say is, if you are using appropriated images, you must alter them enough to make them unquestionably your own. This is a lot like no sticker slappin'. ;) (Oh....and dolls must at least be 8 inches tall.) For some not so light reading on image appropriation: http://silvacine.com/classreadings/molotov.pdf Please write a few lines about your doll: who, when, where, meaning if any, if it is just for fun or experimentation, or to stick pins in. Senders choice, but check you partners profile just in case. If you have any questions about what an articulated paper doll is.....well they are paper dolls with movable joints. You can find some lovely examples on etsy and on google. Rating Requirement: I'm going to say a 4.8 on this one. I will look at profiles on a one on one basis before I hit the swappin' button. Newbies are welcome, but I caution you, this swap will not be super easy.....you are working on a real movable piece of art!!!! Effort and love and some skill are required. Happy swapping to you all!!!!!! P.S. Thank you Hannibal for letting me "steal" your idea!!!!!! |
