Description:

For this swap you will have two partners.
You are going to send one postcard to each of them. You will design the front of the postcard and place a secret on it. It can be something funny, something sad, a memory, something you regret, a missed chance, a dream, a fear,… anything! (As long as it’s true and you’ve never told it anyone.)

You can use any technique or method you want
to design the front of your card (altered text, blacking out art, collages,… even sewing! Use pictures, photos, illustrations, stickers, whatever you want!)

It does not have to be a masterpiece, but try to make it look interesting for your partner.

In short:
-buy or make two postcards
-place a secret on the front of each one (it can be the same or two different secrets)
-make it look interesting by using nice materials, techniques, illustrations, photos,…
-mail them (naked or if you want with envelope) to your partners
-don’t forget to rate your partner
-be discreet and make sure not to reveal your partners secret (for example in the rating)!

Please note:
You might receive a secret that could possibly be offensive to you. By signing up for this swap you promise not to share/ reveal your partners secret.
This swap is not about skills and masterpieces of beautiful mail-art… be fair and don’t rate down if you don’t think a postcard looks great.
It’s totally fine as long as you receive a postcard sized item (store-bought or handmade) with a secret on the front.

If you need some examples

No 1's or recent 3's.
I will allow newbies with well filled out profiles, and at least five completed and rated swaps.
Feel free to message me if you have any questions.
I will angel if you don’t receive something from your partner.

I am confused about the postcard itself. If we are designing it and puttting a secret on it, how can it be storebought. I guess we could do some artwork and incorporate it onto a storebought PC. Is that what you had in mind?

Why do we need to sent the postcards naked? That way a couple of people already read it.

@churlann
Yes, you are right! I guess some people might prefer to start with a storebought postcard... maybe because of the size, or because they want to use parts of it for their artwork,... Anyway if you buy a postcard you have to alter it somehow! So no touristy postcards with your secret squeezed somewhere.

@Annecasa Yeah I guess you are right and some people like your postman could possibly read it. But you don't need to write your real (/full) name on it, so no one will know it's yours. Anyway I thought it would be nice to send them naked because this way they get post stamped (and I think the foreign stamp and the post stamp are something like a part of the story).

I would also be concerned that a postcard with anything but the card and ink could get damaged by the postal machines. The postal service rips plain postcards, I would be very afraid to send a card that has a ribbon, button, or even a drawing glued on it.

if se send in an envelope that fear would go down.

I think your idea is fantastic, I just would hate to see a card well made, get destroyed by the postal workers or machines, which neither cares if they destroy the mail.

Well I've sent and received hundreds of (handmade) cards and not a single one got damaged so far. I even had dried flowers on one and they arrived in perfect condition.

But anyway I see your point and think you are right.
for everyone who is afraid that their card might be damaged:
I will change the description so you may send your postcard in an envelope. :)

Love this swap, but I'll be on vacation. Have fun everyone!

Maybe I'll host something like this again (if there is enough interest) since many people said they would like to join but can't since they're on vacation. I guess I picked a bad time fo this :)

No time is a bad time for creativity :)
