Thank you to @ninou for pointing us to the tutorial for these adorable fabric house ornaments! Our spring, summer, and red/white/blue swaps for these houses went so well that we will continue with this swap series. I love these little houses!
We will all follow this tutorial to make one fabric house ornament for our partners:
Fabric House Ornament Tutorial
For this swap, we will use HALLOWEEN COLORS (orange & black) and patterns for a spooky or cute Halloween theme. This is a theme you could really get creative with!!!
For the main body of the house, please keep the linen look (as in the pattern) by using linen, linen blend, or Osnaburg fabric.
You may keep the little bird (as in the pattern) or replace it with another design. I received one with beautiful flowers from a partner. Something Halloween-related would be awesome this month! As long as there is something in that space, we will leave that up to your creative whim.
While our skill levels are all different, please do your best to follow the tutorial, choose cute fabrics, and do good quality work.
Using scraps from previous projects is fine, but please use only good quality ones with nice patterns; this isn't the time to destash your ugly fabrics! ;-)
There is lots of time to try out the pattern before partners are assigned to make sure it's a project you're comfortable with. This is not a profile-specific swap, so you can get started on it at any time.
Be sure to include the swap name and your Swap-bot name in the package for ease in rating.
Sending on time is considered part of the swap requirements. In the rare circumstance that you must send a little late, please contact your partner and the swap coordinator before the deadline has passed.
Participant Requirements
This swap is for those with a minimum of 10 completed/rated Type 3 (package/craft) swaps. Prior to assigning partners, I will check last log-in date, current swaps (to make sure there aren't any overdue), and ratings (no unexplained/unresolved 1s or 3s). Please PM me with any questions or concerns.
Happy sewing!!!
