Description:

Well, it's Februaury, and here in South Carolina, that means time to plant radishes! (Yes, I'm secretly laughing at those who are still covered in snow up north... or maybe not so secretly...MWAHAHAHAHAHA!) Anyway, I thought it would be so nice to find out what other people are doing in their garden this year. So why not do a garden-related swap? Here's what I came up with:

  1. As you start your planting, soil prep, etc, take pictures and notes of what you're doing.

  2. Write a nice letter (at least a page) to your partner about how your garden is doing, and send with it at least 1 picture and one garden-related item. This could be a garden notebook, a nice little tool, a garden decoration of some sort, one of those pads to kneel on as you garden, etc. You should put thought and effort into each part of this, the letter, the photo and the gift. (I think this should not be more than about a $10 item at most..)

  3. Any type of gardener is welcome, whether you have a farm, a flower bed, a tomato plant on your balcony or are doing your winter garden work in the southern hemisphere.

  4. This swap is international, swappers should have a 4.75 rating to join. Anybody who appears flakey will be banned.

Let me know if you have any questions. I think this could be a great opportunity to make friends with another gardener and maybe learn some tips or tricks you didn't know before. It would be great if this lead to some ongoing gardening chat or penpals.

Yay! Something to inspire me and get me back into the garden. Thank you :O)

Welcome aboard InceyWincey! Isn't it funny how you can get off gardening for a bit, and then as soon as you see something green popping out of the dirt, you're all for it again? It's good stuff...

I'm always in desparate need to get back to gardening that I have a tendency to start my seeding too early an dmy husband always ends up grumbling (quite loudly at times :) that the plants are taking over any and all space in the house! (At least the kitchen and livingroom because I have these huge south windows in those rooms! It's really easy to turn them into "greenhouses" !)

Well isn't that what huge south-facing windows are for?? Husbands, pfff!
