Description:

The idea is simple, but the possibilities are endless! Go to your nearest Dollar Store or variation thereof and get a plain yellow rubber ducky. Bring it home to your fabulous crafting room and alter it! You can add sequins, rhinestones, paint, feathers, charms, etc. Give it a hat, an eyepatch, glasses, a bandana. The design of the duck is completely sender's choice, so feel free to go ahead and start experimenting with your ducky! You can always peruse my Flickr photostream if you would like to see some of the ducks I've made.

This shouldn't need to be said, but DON'T FLAKE. If you have any recent or unexplained 3s or 1s, you will be banned. If your name has been brought up as a flaker, questionable swapper, or non-rater, you will be banned.

Have fun!

I'm not sure that I'm going to sign up, but before I consider it I need to know something. What do you use to paint them?

This sounds fun. :) I have a stupid question though...where do you typically find rubber duckies? Toy stores maybe? And is there a size requirement?

I'm a dork. I just re-read the swap description and noticed you did say Dollar Store. ;) I will check there. But I do still wonder about the size. Thank you! :)

@lavendarcat - I use paint from Michaels. I have acrylic paint and fabric paint. Sometimes it takes several coats, but both types of paint work for me.

@bobilani - I also get my ducks from Kmart. They are in the baby stuff section (near the baby clothes). I would say to try and get a 'regular' sized ducky. The ones at Kmart are about 2 1/2 - 3 inches long and about 2 inches high.

I went to my dollar tree today and bought one. I was looking for a plain one, but they didn't have any... they just had ones with bunny ears, so we'll see what I come up with.
