Back by popular demand: Old Box Postcard #2

It seems that almost everything comes in a cardboard box these days (food items, office supplies, household kits, old record sleeves, etc.). Why not put those boxes to good use before recycling the rest? Taken out of context, some of the box images can be pretty cool. Get creative and see what kind of fun and funky postcards you can make out of that cereal box (for example). Try and stick with thin cardboard boxes rather than thick (for example, packing boxes are probably too thick and more costly and bulky to send than a cereal box) and cut them to the standard 4 x 6 postcard shape. If you wish, let your partner know what the postcard used to be (especially if it is not obvious) and have fun!

For this swap you will be asked to send 1 postcard to 5 different people. This swap is open to international swappers.

If this swap continues to be a hit I will make it a monthly event.

Happy swapping!

I participated in the 1st swap and loved the cards I received and sent. Since the last swap I have been cutting up boxes for postcards and look forward to this becoming a regular swap. Thanks!!

Ditto everything penny said before me!

Can we embellish the cardboard, or is it just about cutting creatively? I love this idea but am not coming up with much packaging that's good on its own.

Looks like fun. Glad I found this and on thelast sign up day. Have already cut my boxes. :-) Sueb

Cards have already been mailed this AM. The fun begins! Thank you PaperPrincess for hosting.

My cards were sent today

I've mailed 4 out of 5 of my postcards. I have one going to Australia, and I need to get a $.75 stamp(s) for it. But my other 4 here in the USA have gone out. I haven't marked mine as "Sent" because of the one I still have, but as soon as I get it mailed, I'll mark "Sent".

My mailbox contained 3 very creative cards today from the following folks. Sandy AKA Sam, Melanie & Karla. Thank you all! This was my first swap and I fear that I over did what I sent out with embellishment. I hope my partners like my as well as I like theirs, and that I get to play next time. Very cool idea.

I had two lovely box cards in my mailbox today! Cereal from PaperPrincess, and Swiss Miss marshmallow cocoa from Erin!

That looks delicious! and the cereal box looks like it would keep you entertained while you eat! (I like those boxes with puzzles on too!) :)

To my partners, ohjudy, Mari, Ladybug, suttonjp & scherre: I have mailed replacement cards out to you that are unembellished. It has been worrying me to no end, that I embellished when I should not have. Sorry, you guys get two, so maybe you will forgive me. Cheers, Sueb

Sueb, I already recieved your first card and it was not quite what I was expecting but it was still lovely! I am just a newbie to swap-bot too so I could hardly complain anyway :)

I also got a really cool postcard today from Sam.. it's made from a pizza box and is round! I'm not normally into shaped cards but this is one of the few cases where it really FITS. So thankyou :)

My card to Australia was mailed last week! So all 5 of my cards are gone! Hope ya'll like! Don't forget the Ratings part! I love Ratings (when they're good, anyway. ha ha!)

Have fun swappin' everyone!

What are the odds of getting two identical postcards from two different players in this swap? Penny and Ladybug, I guess I better get out there and get me some Kashi Chewy Granola bars!

I hope people want to do this again soon. I just found some cardboard in the house that I can cut up with just pictures that I want to send.

That is too funny! I can't believe you received identical cards:) I really can say I like the bars and Ladybug has good taste. This has been a really fun swap, I hope it becomes a regular. I think an old box ATC swap would work, too.
