You can do darling things with paint swatches (paint chips). They're bright and you can get them at the hardware store. Some people use a huge amount for collages, but I am more comfortable just taking a few, since they're free. I've been toying with different ideas for Valentines for a while now, using them as a base for drawing/lettering or cutting out contrasting shapes and layering them. A google image search provides an interesting assortment of ideas to get you started. In this swap, you will make one valentine for three partners. It's not profile based, so you can start now. Keep in mind that it will take a lot of care and thought to elevate the paint chips. You'll need a rating of 4.95. This isn't a good starter swap for unrated folks, since you'd have three partners and the send date is right after partners are assigned. Since valentines are light, this won't be expensive to swap internationally, so I am allowing international participants. Sign ups close Friday the 20th. Send by Tuesday the 24th to allow three weeks for the cards to arrive. Note: If you are in the US with an international partner, note that the last day to send is just after international postage rates go up for the first ounce. |
