I am loving all these art doll swaps, and with all the Dotee Doll swaps going on, I thought why not have another Icicle Doll swap? This is similar to the 1st Icicle Doll swap started by ENJOY (http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/9062) except this time, instead of using winter colors, think spring. What comes to mind when thinking about spring? Do you think pastel colors, or more vibrant colors? I think of flowers starting to bloom, and plants starting to grow again. I think of love, passion and romance. It is up to you to decide what your idea of spring is. For this swap, you will only have ONE partner, so please put some thought into your doll. Make something you would be happy to receive. This swap is INTERNATIONAL. I have set the send date at March 7 so that hopefully your doll will reach their destination by the 1st day of spring. If your partner lives in another country, you may wish to send a bit earlier, although that is not required. Here is a link to instructions on making the doll: http://belindaschneider.wordpress.com/2007/10/28/more-icicle-dolls-instructions/ as well as some finished dolls for inspiration: http://belindaschneider.files.wordpress.com/2007/10/moreicicledolls.jpg http://belindaschneider.files.wordpress.com/2007/11/icicle-doll.jpg http://belindaschneider.files.wordpress.com/2007/11/belgardenicicledoll.jpg http://belindaschneider.files.wordpress.com/2007/11/iciclesjacky.jpg http://belindaschneider.files.wordpress.com/2007/11/eiszapfenpuppesaray1.jpg Regarding faces: You do not have to print the faces on fabric as the instructions say. My only request is that you give it some sort of unusual face. There are many different ideas you could try like rubber stamping, using a clay or polymer clay face, or do what I did: I printed a face on regular white paper, then coated it in liquid polymer clay. Once you bake it, the liquid solidifies and turns clear, giving it a plastic-like coating. You could achieve a similar effect by coating in white glue and allowing to dry. These are just some ideas. Use you imagination and go nuts! |
