Description:

Get inspired for the new year with 52 writing prompts. That's one for each week of 2012.

Send your partner 52 prompts. They can be on index cards, on strips of paper or cardstock, tucked in a whimsy jar, a simple numbered list, written one to a page in a journal, etc. Just be sure there's a prompt for every week.

If you have a preference for the type of format you'd like to receive, please post it below.

Please post the type of writing you do to assist your partner in creating your prompts. (A poet may have different needs than a blogger; what a mystery writer wants will vary from what would help a children's writer or a romance writer, etc.)

Snail mail. International. Group membership.

I'm partial to 3x5 index cards and I'm writing mystery/suspense and romantic suspense.

Could you extend the date for this one? I love the idea, but it'd be great to have a little more time to put it all together!

I'm with @Vegfox on this one, Seems a little cramped for time if one wants to make something more worthwhile to send.. (and to get ideas to send to someone!) As I am mostly writing poems and some sci-fi fiction/ fantasy) To make prompts for someone who does blogging.. (i do some blogging as well but been awhile) I wouldn't know what to put for a prompt.. I would likely send a notebook or index cards but I wouldn't want it to be blah! ie just plain)... does this make sense?

What a great idea, but I think more time is needed to do a nice job. I like pieces of paper, cards, vintage book pages , etc. I keep my prompts in a nice box, but journals are nice also.

I look forward in being a part of this group. But I agree we need a little more time to prepare our 52 prompts, so we can do a nice job. I put my prompts in a decorative jar. So putting prompts on nice paper or index cards would be nice.....or even better in a journal. I just bought a journal that had some prompts and I just love it. bearnbabs

This sounds interesting, but I also think that the time frame is narrow to get something nice done for my partner....I also have a paper due during this time frame, which would make it impossible for me to join with this type of a send by date time frame listed. Otherwise, I'd be up for the swap.

Mine doesn't have to be that "finished" in appearance. I like index cards or scraps of paper, one prompt to each piece of paper.

This is a great idea! I've already got lots of prompts but I'd love to share them and learn some others.

I am writing a paranormal romance so anything along those lines would be wonderful! As for the form, anything would be fine but the whimsey jar seems interesting! :D

OK, folks. I've extended the send by date for this swap.

I'm mostly a journaler but I'd also love prompts for blogging, personal reflection, short stories, and poetry. I'm not too picky about the format but I love creativity!

Partners have been assigned. Let's get swapping!

I write fanfic, contemporary young adult, dystopian young adult, occasionally urban fantasy/paranormal, romance/erotica, historical fiction, and contemporary LGBT-themed short stories. Alternatively, I would LOVE a set of 52 prompts for different lists I could write up & block about each week. I love making lists and never have enough ideas for them. I have a thing for whimsey jars, but I would be super happy with any set of prompts that would make it really easy for me to select one at random (i.e. preferably not listed in order in a journal/book).

ARG! blog about Not block about. Bah! At any rate, I write a lot of different things and I'm not picky. I'm looking forward to coming up with tons of fun prompts!
