Description:

Artistamps go by several different names: faux postage, postoids, cinderellas.

All of these terms basically describe an artist-created stamp that is not used as real postage. These stamps are created simply as an art form unto themselves, and are often used to decorate pieces of mail art, envelopes, or used in collage or altered books.

Each swap participant is to create 5 different artistamps and send them to 1 partner.

It's always nice to check out your partner's profile for ideas on theme – but it is sender's choice.

Stamp size should be close to the size of an average postage stamp --- this varies, so just try to size it to look like an actual stamp.

Please include a note tucked inside the envie indicating the swap name, and your Swap-Bot user ID.

And, if you really love the stamps you make, you can have them made into real stamps here: Zazzle.com

Thanks, twobluecrows! I have no idea how to make a link so you can click right on it....thanks for doing that! I checked out the Zazzle site...that is super cool....I will definitely give that a try! :)

Hey! Do I have to make them stick with water (lickable type?) Cause in Greece I'm not sure I can find that kind of paper... :S

Hello melima! No, you do not have to use sticky-back paper. Any kind of paper is acceptable. People can use whatever adhesive they choose to adhere the stamps. :)

I don't know if I'll make mine sticky, but if you want to learn how it looks easy to do it with packets of gelatin: http://craftyteacher.blogspot.com/2007/09/make-your-own-envelope-glue-or-stamp.html

Thanks for the great tip, @pocketwatch I'm definitely going to give it a try with my stamps! :)
