Description:

Make a handmade greeting card using this sketch:

Here are some samples of finished cards using this sketch:

If you are not aware of what a card sketch is, please read this thread

This card's theme is "Hello". This does not mean that you necessarily have to include "Hello" on the front of the card, just that the card is to be an all-purpose type in which you will write a friendly note to your partner.

Revised Jan. 4 - Size Requirements:

Please make the card at least:

  • 4.25" x 5.5" (using 1/2 of a US Letter size sheet)
    OR
  • 105mm x 148mm (using 1/2 of a metric A4 sheet)

[Thx to @nermalski for bringing this to my attention.]

If you have any questions, please pm me as I don't check my swaps daily. Thx.

@TerryF what size should the card be? Thanks! Linky doesn't work:(

TerryF 12/11/2011 #

Thx ladies! Fixed and edited.

Do we need to send an envelope too? Cause I can only make an envelope, I don't have any that fit 4x6 cards... :(

Paige1900 01/ 1/2012 #

(((MichelleWillow)))...I think that Terry means for this to be written in and mailed so yes you will need an envelope. I am going to have to make my envie also...:)

Happy New Year my beautiful friend!

I changed the send by date of this swap to January 20 (it was January 16) and emailed the participants.

for what it's worth, I buy the 8 pack of notecards from the dollar bin at Micheal's, etc when they have smaller designs in the center of the card. (I've stock from last year's clearance sales) I use them as a base & simply us a lot of my paper scraps to glue over with my own designs. This way you have the envies all ready to go :) Also, they have plain cardstock card/envie packages that are often on sale for only a couple dollars or a 2/$5 type of thing for about 50 cards

Question received from @nermalski :

Is 4.25 x 5.5 size okay....

I ask because us card makers typically just cut a standard 8.5 x 11 inch sheet of card stock in half to use for bases. Two bases, no wasted paper.

Then the typical size envelope we make for it is an A2.

Didn't know if this would be acceptable.

My response:

Yes, that size is fine and makes sense - I will edit the swap description. I will also email the participants to let them know. Thx!
