My new crush is mail art, so I thought it would be fun exchanging postcards made in mail art style.

Easy-peasy swap: make 2 postcards (size should be the regular 5x7 or 4x6 Pc) in mail art style using any medium or technique (including pencils, paints, markers, collage, crayons, stamps, etc). Make them fun, make them nice! Send 1 to each of your partners naked, unless your pc is too fragile (glued on pieces might detach).

Oh yeah, no recent 1-s or 3-s.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "mail art style". Can you link to some examples?

hmm, mail art is any visual art that you created that you send to a partner. Recently mail art tends to be in a mixed media format similar to what you see on the card illustrated, but basically anythings goes...

Ray johnson in my opinion is the one who made mail art popular. I feel like people have confused mail art with all kind of things.It used to be that it was art that should show signs that it went through the postal system,Art that has a stamp on it and that is not hidden in a package or envelope.It can be artsy envelopes,handmade postcards,or an object but it must have the postage attached to it and all postal workers should be abble to see the art. Anyhow this to me is what mail art is.

@yesh Ray and many many more besides. I agree with you. It must go through the mail system. Thats what its all about. And its not about 'cute'. It is Raw-Vision-Art mostly outsider artists..although its now classified in some circles as fine art.

Also I suggest everyone looks at mail art images (google it) because a good swap will comprise of wild & fantastic art...no holds barred.
