Description: | |
I made a series of paint blot atcs recently and they were so much fun that I decided to host a swap. To make a paint blot, you drip or 'plop' small amounts of paint onto paper, then fold in half and mash. Then open your paper and see what you have. When your paper is folded, you can mash it squarely or use your fingers to push out from the middle or from side to side. Depending on which way you do it, and the amount of paint used, your finished blot can turn out all kinds of different ways. Just don't paint it on, trying to make something in particular - that rarely works well, and that is not a true paint blot. It is impossible to stop at one paint blot because they are so much fun to do, and curiousity will lead you to wonder what the next one will look like, and the next one, and so on. So for this swap (provided enough people join) we will have three partners. Make your ink blots, cut them out, or not, mount them on something and give them a proper backing for normal atc sturdiness. You can add ink details or not. Please do your best work and make this a fun swap for your partners. BUT, also, on the back of your atc, along with your usual information, write a paragraph or maybe two (?) of what you see in your ink blot...not a list, but sort of a 'story' or description of what is happening in your "blot picture". Nothing long or elaborate, but just not a 'list'. Here is a link to my Flickr where I have my series of 8 posted: http://www.flickr.com/photos/28821647@N00/ If that doesn't work, you can go to my profile and click on My Flickr from there. EDITED TO ADD - I mean the recent paint blot atcs on my Flickr, NOT the older paint blot pictures that are larger and have collaged faces added on. This swap will not have collaged parts added on to the blots. This is sender's choice, so you can start making your paint blot atcs right away. I am making the time relatively short for this, because these really are quick and fun. 4.95+ rating required with no recent or unexplained 1's or 3's. |
