For this swap you will make one book using vintage ephemera. Please make the book no more than 3-1/2" wide by 4-1/2" high and a minimum of four pages. Support papers should be sturdy enough so the book isn't flimsy and should be on a subject your partner will love. So make sure your profiles are current! :-) The due date will be far enough out so you can wait to read your partner's profile before making the book. The book doesn't have to be 100% vintage ephemera. Feel free to include your own writing or art. The book can be any style, any binding. However, just as an example, I've given some links below for making an accordion book. I found this style to be fairly easy, especially if one is a beginner. I am far from being a bookmaking expert but will try to help all I can if there are questions. http://www.artbookscreativity.org/curriculum/book-instructions.html http://www.booklyn.org/education/isaccordion.pdf (see first page, numbered pg. 15) http://bookmakingshow.blogspot.com/2008/01/hello-welcome-to-bookmaking-show-im.html (Book Making Show Episode 3 - Instructions for making an accordion book cover) One idea I just love is taken from the book "Collaborative Art Journals and Shared Visions in Mixed Media" by L.K. Ludwig. The artist used a vintage button card for the cover of her book. That is the image I've used for this swap. I haven't hosted a swap in many years so if something is not right or has been forgotten, please let me know. International swap. Must have rating of 4.9 or higher and no 1's or 3's in the last 3 months. Be sure to let me know if there are questions. Thanks. |
